New York: Lionel Messi and his Argentina squad have been drawn against fellow top-five team Chile in the group stage of this year's Centennial Copa America tournament.
Argentina, the No. 2 team in the world rankings, and No. 5 Chile were also drawn with Bolivia and Panama in the 16-nation tournament whose business deals led to the indictment of a slew of top football executives on corruption charges.
Messi, a five-time world player of the year, has already committed to playing in the tournament, to be held in the United States from June 3-26. Organizers also hope it will include top stars such as Brazil's Neymar, Uruguay's Luis Suarez and Chile's Alexis Sanchez.
The other groups are:
A_United States, Colombia, Costa Rica, Paraguay
B_Brazil, Ecuador, Haiti, Peru
C_Jamaica, Mexico, Uruguay, Venezuela
