London: Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has been ruled out for three weeks with a hamstring injury and will miss France's upcoming World Cup qualifier against Finland.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said on Friday that Sagna picked up "a little hamstring problem" in the 2-0 midweek win over Napoli in the Champions League.
The French federation later said that Sagna had been replaced by Rod Fanni in the France squad that faces Australia in a friendly next Friday then hosts Finland at Stade de France four days later.
Didier Deschamps' team looks certain to finish second in Europe Group I behind Spain, and having to qualify through the playoffs next month.
Sagna will also miss English Premier League matches against West Bromwich Albion and Norwich and could also be unavailable for the Champions League game with Borussia Dortmund on Oct. 22.
