Barcelona: Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz scored two goals and set up another in a 5-1 rout at 10-man Osasuna on Sunday as the Basque club strengthened their grip on fourth place in the Spanish league.
Aritz started his strong performance by pressuring Osasuna defender Jordan Loties into losing the ball, leading to Markel Susaeta's third-minute opener.
Emiliano Armenteros caught Bilbao goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz out of position to level with a free kick in the 10th, but six minutes later it was Osasuna goalkeeper Andres Fernandez's turn to gift a goal to Aduriz when he let a low cross slip through his hands.
Aduriz headed in Ander Herrera's cross in the 62nd. He then set up Ibai Gomez in the 84th after Osasuna's Alejandro Arribas had been dismissed with his second yellow card. Bilbao substitute Kike Sola capped Osasuna's first loss in six rounds in the 88th.
Bilbao have won their last seven league matches as they consolidate their place in the last Champions League spot.
Also, Almeria edged Getafe 1-0 courtesy of striker Jonathan Zongo's second-half header to escape the relegation zone.
Almeria ended a streak of two consecutive losses as they pushed Valladolid back down into the drop zone with Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis.
