With the 2012-13 English Premier League (EPL) title having been decided, IBNLive runs the rule over the most valuable players. Enjoy!David de Gea: The Manchester United goalkeeper was slammed by critics initially for committing errors but the young Spaniard proved everyone wrong in the second half of the season, giving spectacular performances one after the other and kept nine consecutive clean sheets to asserts himself as United's No. 1 custodian.Pablo Zabaleta: Zabaleta has surely been the most underrated player for Manchester City. He is a useful player because he can play on both sides of the pitch either as a defender or a defensive midfielder. The Argentine is physically strong and provides the much needed strength in the defence.Jan Vertonghen: The Tottenham Hotspur defender was surely Andre Villas Boas' signing of the season. He was rock solid as a centre half and scored  important goals as well. He was equally commanding on the left flank of the Tottenham defence. He was one of the main reason to help Spurs finish fifth in the EPL this season.Branislav Ivanovic: The Chelsea defender was a revelation in this season as centre half as well as right back. He produced stunning displays game after game and helped Chelsea get plenty of clean sheets. He has also proved to be the most consistent scorer as a defender.Leighton Baines: The left back from Everton is possibly the best crosser of the ball and contributed heavily from set pieces as well. He is regarded as the chief architect of Everton's sixth-place finish on the points table. He's more than capable at the back and has created more goalscoring chances (106) than any other player in Europe's top five leagues this season.Juan Mata: Juan Mata has been the best midfielder this season in the Premier League and rightly deserves a place in the playing 11. The Spaniard had a quite first season with Chelsea, but this year he has been the playmaker and has created maximum chances for the strikers. He also scored 11 goals this season.Frank Lampard (captain): The Chelsea midfielder has been phenomenal this season. With everybody talking about his transfer, the Englishman proved everyone wrong by scoring 15 goals this season and breaking Bobby Tambling's record to become club's highest goal scorer of all time with 203 goals in all competitions. Marouane Fellaini: The Belgian midfielder brought composure to Everton and has fabulous ability to both pass and take players on and score important goals. He was outstanding while playing in the hole behind the striker for most of the season despite being a natural holding midfielder.Gareth Bale: Bale has played an integral role in Tottenham's success in the last few years. He is young and one of the fittest players in the Premier League and scored 21 goals. Bale has also been named the Professional Football Association's Player and Young Player of the year for 2012-13, becoming only the third person to clinch the double accolade in the same season.Luis Suarez: Suarez has been in the news throughout the season due to the controversies but you cannot doubt his talent as a footballer. The Uruguayan striker has scored 23 goals this season and could have been the leading scorer had he not been banned after biting Ivanovic's arm.Robin van Persie: The Dutchman has been arguably the best striker in the league this season, with his outstanding goal record for United being one of the main reasons behind their winning the league this season. He scored 25 league goals in his debut season for Red Devils and that proved how well he setlled in at a new team. He lifted United a number of times from losing positions and deservingly won the golden boot for the season as well.Subs:Asmir Begovic: The Bosnian international tops the Premier League's clean sheet charts this season, is second in terms of successful saves, only behind de Gea and has conceded less goals from open play than any keeper in the top flight.Ryan James Shawcross: Shawcross plays as a centre back for Stoke City and deserves a place among the substitutes. He likes to play long balls and clears the ball out of defence quite often. It was his good form that prompted Stoke to pay Manchester United 1 million pounds in January 2008 to keep him at the Britannia Stadium.Gary Cahill: Cahill plays as a central defender for Chelsea and has been one of the best buy for the club. He deserves a place among the substitutes because he can also play as a right back, left back and defensive midfielder due to his pace and powerful headers.Michu: The bargain of the season! Michael Laudrup snapped up the 2-million-pound attacking midfielder Michu from Rayo Vallecano and has been rewarded consistently throughout the season with 17 league goals in 31 appearances. Swansea will surely face a struggle of keeping hold of him in the upcoming transfer market.Eden Hazard: The Belgian could have booked his place in the playing XI but as we have taken Lampard and Mata in the team, there was no place for another midfielder. Hazard has also been a playmaker for Chelsea this season with his speed and quick passes. He has scored nine goals for Chelsea and assisted in maximum number of goals for the club this season.Michael Carrick: One of the most underrated player in EPL. Whether he's making short passes to keep possession or giving important through-balls to keep the attack going, you always know you're going to get a consistent performance out of Carrick. He also Won Manchester United 'Player of the Year' award ahead of RVP.Santi Cazorla: He is one man who can be credited for Arsenal clinching the fourth position and a place in the Champions League, ahead of Tottenham. Arsenal have found perfect replacement for their former star midfielder Cesc Fabregas in him.Have your say: Do you agree with our selection?
