India shall have Lebanon and Palestine for company in Group A.

New Delhi: Six teams have been divided into groups of two each, with Group B comprising of last edition’s runners-up, Syria, Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan.

The tournament was originally supposed to be held on the 18th but due to the Independence Day festivities at the Ambedkar Stadium, the Indian FA decided to delay the kick-off by a day to ensure that the turf is in its best condition.

"The tournament has been shifted for a day and now will start on 19th. Everyone is working hard to give the ground the best shape and we assure that like the previous year’s edition this year also it will be a success," All India Football Federation (AIFF) Acting President, Praful Patel said.

Thailand’s absence has been confirmed by the AIFF general secretary, Alberto Colaco after it was revealed that they wanted to send their junior side.

"We had asked all the teams to send their team senior team but Thailand had sent their U-19 team list. So we decided to scrap them and included Palestine,” said Colaco.

All the games shall kick-off in the evening at 18.30 IST.
