New Delhi: Team India visited the home stadium of current European and Spanish champions, Barcelona on Tuesday morning and were thrilled to see what they saw only on the small screen.
Indian national team is in the Catalan city as part of their month-long preparation for the Nehru Cup, which is scheduled next month in the Indian capital.
As per the schedule outlined, the Men in Blue were to have a gym session in the morning and train in the evenings.
However, the team decided to break that for a day and for good as they visited the largest stadium in Europe which has the approximate capacity of more than 98, 000.
The team members were understandably excited as they went about their tour with a local guide, who got them acquainted with the history behind the stadium. They also visited the famous museum, which has around 1420 pieces of the club’s history.
Speaking to Goal.com, Gouramangi Singh said, “The museum was very interesting. We got to see the Champions League trophy, the Primera Division trophy and many old and new silverware they have won.
“We saw the photos of many of their legends, the old jerseys, boots and much more. It was an exhilarating experience to be honest.”
