New Delhi: Delhi Dynamos produced a fine display of attacking football as they cruised to a 4-1 win over Chenaiyan FC and after tasting his first win in the inaugural season of the Indian Super League (ISL), Delhi coach Harm van Veldhovet was all praise for his team.
"We had a perfect start with Wim Raymaekers getting the early goal and it set the tone for the match. It's always good to score early. Had we scored early against FC Pune City, we would have won that match as well with four or five goals," Veldhovet said after the match.
"I am really proud of my team and want to congratulate them for the fantastic performance. We should keep the momentum going. It's good to be in the top four and hopefully we should maintain the position", he added.
When asked about his strategy before the match, the coach stressed upon the importance of the early goal and reserved special praise for his midfielders.
"I have midfielders of the caliber of Hans Mulder, Bruno Herrero and the Steven Dias, and we did not give any chance to Chennaiyin FC. I am proud of my players," said the Dutchman.
Goals from Raymaekers, Mads Junker, Herrero and Dos Santos gave Delhi all three points and they now sit fourth in the points table.
The Dynamos will next take on NorthEast United FC on October 29.
