La Liga: Barcelona held to a 1-1 draw at Levante

Barcelona: Barcelona's potent attack led by Lionel Messi was held to a 1-1 draw at Levante on Sunday, leaving the door open for Atletico Madrid to move ahead at the top of the Spanish league.

Atletico enter their game later against Sevilla, one point behind the defending champions. Levante made the most of Loukas Vyntra's 10th-minute header, and their staunch defense did the rest to take some degree of vengeance for the 7-0 thrashing Barcelona dealt the modest side in the season opener.

Gerard Pique leveled for Barcelona in the 19th, but Levante defender Juanfran Garcia saved the visitors' two best chances in the second half. Barcelona's second straight draw also left Real Madrid one point behind after they routed Real Betis 5-0 on Saturday.
