In second season of the Indian Super League (ISL), football world's who's who are set to step on Indian soil. First Pele confirmed his visit during the ISL and now it's been reported that the Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney may join the game's legend.
Sourav Ganguly, co-owner of Atletico de Kolkata, confirmed Rooney's visit before leaving the Cricket Association of Bengal office on Wednesday. "Rooney will be coming here as part of the ISL. So it will not just be about Pele," the former India captain said.
It has also been reported that Ganguly has already shot a promo on Rooney's visit to India for the official broadcasters of the ISL. It will go on air soon.
While Manchester United don't have any matches to play between November 8 and 20, England will play two friendlies during the same period. They take on Spain on November 13 and hosts France on November 17.
Whether Rooney will make himself unavailable for those friendlies is still unclear and so is his date of visit to India.
