If rumours are to be believed then Real Madrid may sell their star player Cristiano Ronaldo for a whopping 200 million euros.
The Goal.com on Wednesday reported that if the club cannot come to an amicable solution involving the player, then they may sell him to the prospective buyers.
The Portuguese did not celebrate his two goals during Madrid’s 3-0 win over Granada in the La Liga on September 2, and claimed after the match that he was unhappy.
Despite Ronaldo’s denial, it is said that the 27-year-old's desires for a pay rise was the reason behind his current state of dissatisfaction. It is also believed that the Real Madrid’s No. 7 is eyeing an improved contract at the club.
Ronaldo wrote on his Facebook page it is "now time to return to the club and think only about my club".
"I would like to reaffirm, without being concerned about contracts, that my focus is solely on winning every game and every available trophy with the essential company of my teammates and all madridistas," he added.
Ronaldo earns nearly 10m euros annually, which is significantly lower sum than players such as Samuel Eto'o and Zlatan Ibrahimovic – who are being paid 20m euros and 14.5m euros by Anzhi Makhachkala and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) respectively.
Although Los Blancos are determined to resolve the issue by holding talks between the player, coach Jose Mourinho and president Florentino Perez, the ABC news reported that two clubs, believed to be PSG and Anzhi, would be prepared to offer Ronaldo an improved annual salary, approximately in the tune of 20m euros.
Ronaldo arrived back in Madrid after helping Portugal win their World Cup qualifying matches against Luxembourg and Azerbaijan.
Real Madrid paid an unprecedented 100m euros fee to Manchester Untied for his services in 2009.
