Xabi Alonso To Possibly Seek Out Real Madrid Head Role in Near Future: Report
Latest reports suggest that the former World Cup winner is holding out all offers and is considering staying with his beloved Byer Leverkusen as he aims to make a return to the glorious Santiago Bernabeu once again in the near future

Everyone wants Alonso. The Spaniard has become a top priority for clubs galore all across Europe, as the likes of giants such as Liverpool and Bayern Munich are seeking a leader at the helm from the end of the season onwards.

But, in a new twist of the tale, the latest reports suggest that the former World Cup winner is holding out all offers and is considering staying with his beloved Bayer Leverkusen as he aims to make a return to the glorious Santiago Bernabeu once again in the near future.

Real Madrid are currently under the reign of Carlo Ancelotti, whose contract runs until 2026. Despite his foreseeable success, according to information received by fussball.news, Alonso himself might just consider staying in Leverkusen and wait on his turn to take the throne for Los Blancos, which is stated to be a dream destination for the Spaniard.

But, the headlines lately have also been rife with speculation of the Spaniard’s expected departure from BayArena to seemingly greener pastures, especially to either Liverpool or Bayern, in light of the openings in the clubs later this season.

All of these are speculative, but then again, it would make sense for the former Real Madrid man himself to return to the Bernabeu, where he found the most success in his career, once again.

But for time being, Alonso stands firm, and stated that he has no intentions of indulging in such rumours currently, as he has his eyes set on clinching Leverkusen their maiden Bundesliga title.

“Right now it’s just speculation” the 42-year-old told DAZN after the 2-1 win against Mainz.

“My head is here. We have a lot to do. We’re in a great situation. We should enjoy it and continue to prepare, and that’s all I’m thinking about.”

Xabi Alonso’s revival of Bayer Leverkusen all culminated in yet another major milestone this past weekend as his side clinched their record-breaking 33rd consecutive win after a hard-fought battle against Mainz.

Alonso’s Leverkusen have now overthrown Bayern Munich to become the German club with the most consecutive wins, as they also go clear ahead of the Bavarians by 8 points in the Bundesliga table currently, en route to a hopeful first Bundesliga title.
