While Gunn has written the entire season of Peacemaker, he mentioned that he would only direct some of the episodes. Additionally, Gunn revealed that due to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strikes, the Viola Davis-led series Waller would premiere after the second season of Peacemaker.
In response to fan enquiries, Gunn hinted that several storylines from the first season of Peacemaker would carry over into the New DC Universe-set Season 2. Alongside his blade eagle sidekick, Eagly, Peacemaker navigates a world where he must balance his desire for peace with the violence required to achieve it.
