A new report has made a shocking claim about Chiranjeevi. The Telugu superstar, who has been in the industry for several decades now, is allegedly at a point of losing films due to his jaw-dropping fees. Dubbed as the Megastar of Telugu cinema, Chiranjeevi reportedly charges a massive sum of Rs 70 crore per film today. While filmmakers have been paying the actor his quoted amount and roping him for their movies, it is now claimed that producers in the Telugu film industry are taking a step back and re-evaluating if they want to work with him.
In an unverified report by Siasat, despite his recent movies not performing as well as it is expected to at the box office, Chiranjeevi is allegedly still demanding a high fee for the film. “The actor is charging INR 70 crore per film as per reports due to which producers think of bringing him to the board. Trade analysts predict that Chiranjeevi may lose various projects as he has started charging hefty amounts of money,” the publication reported.

Chiranjeevi has had three releases this year. He was seen in Waltair Veerayya in January, Ranga Maarthaanda in March, and Bhola Shankar in August. The films did decent to good business at the box office but weren’t blockbusters. Chiranjeevi is currently filming his 2024 release, Mega 156. Rumours went wild in October that the film’s budget is over Rs 200 crore. However, no confirmation has been shared.
The film is helmed by director Mallidi Vassishta. The film went on floors in October. The film is written by Sai Madhav Burra. The cinematography is handled by Chota K Naidu while the editing will be done by Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao and Santosh Kamireddy. Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sushmita Konidela is costume designer.
