Gopichand-starrer Rama Banam Locks Its OTT Release Date

The makers of BRO signed an agreement to release all their films under the same banner on Netflix. Rama Banam is also produced under the banner People Media Factory.

Telugu action hero Gopichand starrer Rama Banam was released in theatres worldwide on May 5 this year. Along with the star actor, veteran Jagapathi Babu also played the lead role in the movie. The family entertainer film was directed by the popular filmmaker Sriwass. The movie was released amid good expectations as it was displayed on 840 screens worldwide. The collaboration of these actors couldn’t yield good results for the producers of the movie. The film failed and didn’t perform well at the box office. According to the media reports, the movie was made on a budget of Rs 28 crore. The pre-release business of the movie was estimated to be Rs 14.50 crore. It entered the theatres with a break-even target of Rs 15 crore.

According to the trade reports, the film could only collect Rs 7 crore worldwide. In Telugu states, the movie collected Rs 1.17 crore. After watching the movie’s performance, none of the OTT platforms were willing to buy the digital rights of the movie.

The makers of the movie BRO which starred Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan in the lead role signed an agreement to release their films under the same banner on Netflix. Similar to BRO, Rama Banam was also produced under the banner of People Media Factory. The release date of the movie on the OTT is also fixed. It will be released on Netflix on September 14.

Films like Lakshyam and Loukyam also saw the collaboration of director Sriwass and actor Gopichand and both received success at the box office. This made the fans excited for the third movie of this duo. However, due to a routine story and lacklustre screenplay, the movie couldn’t perform well at the box office.

Actress Dimple Hayathi played the role of the heroine opposite Gopichand in the movie. The story revolves around the two brothers who don’t share the same ideology. When the family faces a problem, both individuals come together to fight the common enemy. The story is written by Madhusudan Padamati and Bhupathi Raja. Apart from the lead actors, actors Nassar, Sachin Khedkar, Raja Ravindra, Vennela Kishor and actress Khushboo played pivotal roles in the movie.
