Ranchi: A 24-year-old man was trampled to death by an elephant near Dassam falls in Bundu, police said on Wednesday.
The elephant killed Akshay Kumar Mahto when villagers tried to chase a herd of 17 pachyderms which came to the area from a near-by forest on Tuesday.
As per forest rule, compensation was given to the bereaved family.
