BANGALORE: The state government has issued a notification to acquire about 3488.26 acres of land to set up an industrial estate in Hunsur taluk in Mysore district in the near future.In a written reply to JD(S) member H P Manjunath from Hunsur constituency, Minister for Large and Medium-scale Industries Murugesh Nirani informed that the state government had issued a preliminary notification to acquire the land under the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Act in June last year. “A joint survey of the land to be acquired is under progress. The state government is yet to fix a suitable compensation payable to those who would lose their land,” the minister for large and medium-scale Industries replied.Nirani continued: “Under the KIADB Act sub-section 28(1), once a preliminary notification has been issued to acquire land there exists no provision to transfer the land to others. The compensation will be paid after issuing a final notification.”
