Imagine the pang of hunger driving you to hastily order food online to satiate your cravings in a flash. But alas, just as you anticipate the arrival of your meal, a call disrupts your hunger-fuelled reverie. It’s the delivery agent, bearing news that dashes your hopes – your meal won’t be arriving anytime soon, courtesy of unforeseen circumstances.
Now, imagine the frustration amplified for a woman eagerly awaiting her Vada Pav and roll from Swiggy, only to be informed by the delivery man, Rohit Sharma, that he’s too pressed for time to fulfill the delivery!

Venting her disappointment, she took to ‘X’, sharing a screenshot of her Swiggy order, stamped as “delivered” by the executive. Yet beneath that confirmation lay Neha’s complaint: “I did not receive this order.” Taking her grievance to social media, she said, “Dear @Swiggy @SwiggyCares, I have ordered something from Swiggy. I have not received the order. Your delivery boy denied to deliver the order and said ‘mere pas time nahi hai jo karna hai kar lo nahi le kar aunga order’ (I don’t have time, I can’t bring the order. Do whatever you want to). Where to go now?”

Soon, Neha’s post gained traction, but the ensuing comments took an unexpected turn. Rather than sympathy for Neha’s plight, the focus shifted to two peculiar aspects – the delivery person sharing a name with the famed India cricket captain, Rohit Sharma, and Neha’s apparent extravagance in purchasing Vada Pavs — a street snack typically priced at Rs. 15 — for Rs. 100.
“On a lighter note Rohit Sharma has already delivered a win for India today,” quipped one user. “Ab Rohit bhai Vada Pav ka temptation kaise supress karein, Hitman,” humourously echoed another, reviving the timeless meme of associating the Indian captain with ‘Vada Pav’ due to his Mumbai origins.
Meanwhile, disbelief permeated the comments regarding the seemingly exorbitant Vada Pav price. “Buying Vada Pao at 100 bucks is a crime and a sin, and you’re paying for it,” exclaimed one. Another chimed in, “100 rs me haathi jaisa vada pav milta kya.”

Amidst the online banter, the original poster shared in a comment that she had ordered for her kids, only to be left with no choice but to resort to Maggi when the anticipated meal didn’t arrive. Swiggy swiftly acknowledged the matter, reassuring her with a response: “Hope the team could sort this out over call. We’re right here should you need us for anything :)”
