Mangalore: Eight people have been arrested for killing a Bajrang Dal activist who participated in a campaign that led to the closure of slaughter houses in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka.
Prashant Poojary, the Bajrang Dal activist was actively involved in protests against cow slaughter. On October 9, a gang of six hacked him to death at Moodbidri.
Police said it's a case of revenge killing.
Most of the arrested are members of Popular Front of India.
Police Commissioner S Murugan said ,"Those arrested in connection with the murder of Prashant Poojary were Mohammad Sharif, Mustafa Kavoor, Mohd Mustafa and Kabir. The investigation is on. Other offenders who were also involved in these offence are being identified and will be arrested shortly."
