KOCHI: The Animal Birth Control programme, aimed at reducing the number of stray dogs, has been relaunched in Muvattupuzha. Animal protection organisation Daya with the help of Indian Veterinary Association (IVA), Ernakulam, has taken up the programme, which had not been implemented for a year. It has been implemented with the aim of completly eradicating the town from rabies. Muvattupuzha Municipality chairman U R Babu inaugurated the programme, which was attended by district veterinary officer Dr K M Sukumaran, taluk veterinary clinic senior surgeon Dr G Padmakumar, Daya secretary Ramesh Kumar and IVA chapter secretary Dr K C Jayan.
