CHENNAI: Noorjehan, daughter of Fazila Bi, who has been sentenced to death in Malaysia for alleged drug trafficking, said that when her family questioned the travel agent, he promised to bring Fazila out of prison within two months. “After two months, he sought another two months but nothing happened,” said the 40-year-old. The complainant recalled that the travel agent even given them a letter promising Rs 4lakh for the agony they had undergone, but nothing happened. Later, the travel agent reportedly started avoiding the aggrieved family. He had also reportedly told them that even if they filed a complaint against him and he was arrested, it would barely take three months for him to come out.Four days ago, the family came to know that Fazila Bi had been sentenced to death. “We are poor and illiterate. My mother is innocent. We want to save her and bring her back,” Noorjehan and her sister Mumtaj said. The family was trying to appeal against the death sentence in Malaysia.
