After riding high on the success of his highly popular sarcastic love tale 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama', writer-lyricist Luv Ranjan is returning with a movie that is a complete contrast. 'Akaash Vani' is an intense love story, and its soundtrack reflects the same spirit. Composer Hitesh Sonik and Luv Ranjan have worked well together on this album, which has five original tracks.

They slither in with a typically melodious KK track 'Pad gaye ji' to kick off the musical journey. The piano and drums add to the romance and drama of the track, while the lyrics are contemporary. Sunidhi Chauhan's magical and serene voice takes the song to a new level altogether. The concoction of various sounds give the album an addictive opener.

'Crazy lover' is up next. It lives up to the 'crazy' bit in its name to the hilt, and gets you to groove. Vishal Dadlani and Sunidhi Chauhan add their energy to this track, and with some tabla to the otherwise modern tune, this song is a treat to the ears. Luv Ranjan has penned some funny and unforgettable lyrics. Go listen to it, this will definitely help you de-stress!

The next number on the album, 'Bas main aur tu', has a tailor-made voice in singer Nikhil D'Souza. It makes you want to learn how to strum the guitar strings, as well as to cuddle up with your special someone, due to its high romantic quotient. D'Souza gets good support from singer Neeti Mohan, and this track is definitely a must download for all those road trips and special times with the lover. However, its reprise version could easily have been dropped off the album.

One is totally smitten by the next track, 'Rumani'. Shalmali Kholgade and Thomsan Andrews make one sit up and pay attention to this eclectic, peppy and sexy track. Luv Ranjan has injected Urdu words, which have recently got lost in the rush for item numbers. This one is a refreshing love song. Not run-of-the-mill romantic or over-the-top mushy, this track is young and full of love.

Where there is love, there is pain. Where there are love songs, there are songs about heartbreak. 'Tera mera naam' is not just a song, but also a journey through heartbreak in the 21st century. Shafqat Amanat Ali lends his soulful voice so strongly that it touches your heart right at the onset of the track. All those suffering from heartbreak should beware of this one. You have been warned.

'Akaash Vani' presents a medley of love songs with an awesome makeover! It is such a refreshing change and highly recommended.
