Amarnath Yatra Terror Attack: All You Need to Know About Abu Ismail
Here’s what you need to know about the terrorist and suspected Amarnath Yatra attack mastermind Abu Ismail.

New Delhi: Seven Amarnath Yatra pilgrims were killed and several injured on Monday evening when terrorists attacked a bus carrying the pilgrims in Batingu, near Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists first attacked the combined checkpoint of STF, SOG and CRPF in Khannabal at around 8:15 pm, and ran towards Batingu. The terrorists, then, targeted the bus carrying pilgrims, killing six of them, and escaped running towards Arwani area. They opened fire on the camp of G/90 battalion while running away from the spot.

- Ismail is a local Lashkar-e-Taiba commander in South Kashmir

- He is a Pakistani citizen and successor to LeT’s Kashmir commander Abu Dujana

- The Amarnath Yatra attack was supported by local Kashmiris

- Lashkar recently went on a recruitment drive in South Kashmir
