PATHANAMTHITTA: K Anandagopan was re-elected district secretary of the CPM on Wednesday for the fourth time in succession at the district conference which witnessed election to the district committee in which former MLA and district secretariat member K C Rajagopalan suffered a severe drubbing.The conference witnessed live discussion on various issues including involvement of K C Rajagopalan in the controversial Aranmula airport project and the party’s dubious role in the victory of the UDF candidate in Konni Assembly poll. Though vigorous efforts were made to prevent an election to the new district committee, a seven-member panel contested against the official panel of the outgoing committee.In the elections, three members from the official panel failed to find a place in the district committee, who included K C Rajagopalan, Amritham Gokulam and K K Sreedharan. The three members from the rebel panel who find a place in the district committtee include P R Pradeepkumar, Harashakumar and Prakashbabu.
