HYDERABAD: The controversial Clause 14 (f) from the Presidential Order might have been deleted making Hyderabad no more a free zone, but the written examination for recruitment of sub-inspector of police posts would still be conducted under the shadow of gun with pro-Telangana parties and organisations demanding that the exam be postponed by a month. They want the examinations to be held after a month as the Telangana students have not prepared fully for the exam as they were taking active part in the agitations for deletion of the clause. The examinations would be held on August 13 and 14 in two phases, one each in the morning and afternoon sessions on both days.Though no organisation or party had threatened to disrupt the examination, the BHEL township continues to remain a fortress. The written examinations pertaining to Zone-VI are being held in six centres in the BHEL township in the neighbouring Medak district. The police took the township under their control. Additional forces from nearby districts apart from paramilitary forces were deployed in and around the township. Nearly 4,000 policemen have been deployed and pickets have came up at the entrance of the township and the residents were also thoroughly frisked before they are let inside.Cyberabad police, which has a border with Medak district, was also alerted and patrolling has been intensified on the roads leading to BHEL.Even as the pro-Telangana organisations and parties termed the deletion of Clause 14 (f) as a victory of the people of the region, they wanted the exams to be postponed as the Telangana youth were not prepared fully to take the exam.Osmania University JAC spokesperson P Kailash said they would continue the same agitational spirit in achieving separate Telangana state also. “The government should postpone the examination for at least a month for the aspirants of the region to prepare,” Kailash said.TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram and Telangana employees’ union leaders also echoed the same view. The conduct of the examination, more than two years after the notification was issued, has been under the storm with pro-Telangana parties, including the ruling Congress leaders of the region opposing it without the deletion of the Clause 14 (f).Though the police anticipated trouble at the examination centres, they heaved a sigh of relief with the deletion of Clause 14 (f). However, officials said they do not want to take any chances and continue the same alertness.Examination would be held at six places - Visakhapatnam, Eluru, Guntur, Kurnool, Karimnagar and Hyderabad.
