New Delhi: In Jammu, protests broke out on Saturday over an alleged custodial death of a 17-year-old in Satwari area of the city.
The youth, Soni Kumar, was called in for questioning by the police on late Friday night and his body was found on Saturday morning.
Over 600 protestors who took to street, set ablaze the police station in Makwal village along with two police vehicles.
Over 12 policemen were injured in the clash and a magisterial inquiry has been ordered.
On Tuesday, clashes had broken out in Rajouri over an alleged custodial death of a 27-year old.
Three more constables who were involved in fake encounters in the state have been sent to police custody till February 21.
A total of nine policemen have been arrested in the fake encounters case including the SSP Parihar and Deputy SP Bahadur Ram.
The Srinagar Chief Judicial Magistrate has sent the Parihar and Bahadur Ram to judicial remand till March 2.
It was under Parihar's tenure that the state police's Special Operations Group, allegedly shot dead five persons and branded them as terrorists.
The Special Investigative Team probing the case had arrested Parihar and his deputy Bahadur Ram earlier this month.
