HYDERABAD: With the Ganesh festival commencing from September 1, city police commissioner AK Khan has issued a notification for rules and regulations to be followed by festival organisers. Organisers wishing to install Ganesh idols have to take application forms for prior permission from respective police stations, to be available from August 10 to 14. They have to submit the forms by August 18.  Application should indicate the place and date of proposed installation and the date, time, route and destination of the immersion procession. Organisers should also furnish an NOC from the owner of the premises or landOrganisers also need to submit a certificate from the APCPDCL for an authorised electricity connection along with the application form Only box-type loudspeakers can be used and prior permission have to be taken by organisers who hire the equipment and dealers supplying the equipment  The loudspeaker or public address system should not be used in the night between 10 p.m and 6 a.mOrganisers must provide volunteers with suitable identity cards or badges and utilise them for maintaining queues at Ganesh mandaps and to guard the idols. Precautionary measures for lighting of lamps and 'aarthi' will be responsibility of organisersOrganisers taking out procession for immersion will have to apply individually to ACPs through Station House Officers mentioning the date, time and route for the procession and obtain permission beforehandStation House Officers and ACPs would hold meetings with organisers for issuing required permissionsAll locality elders, organisers, social workers, Peace Committee and Maithri members are requested to help in maintaining public order and peace
