Lok Sabha member from Arunachal Pradesh Takam Sanjoy has urged the Centre to take note of crimes allegedly committed by Chakma refugees inhabiting in the state.

Sanjoy called on Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami at New Delhi on Friday and discussed the present status of the Chakma-Hajong refugee issue, official sources said in Itanagar on Saturday.

He also urged Goswami to have a relook at the present committee about the status and progress of the dialogue process. Sanjoy demanded the Centre to demarcate the settlement areas of the Chakmas.

"The refugees should be restricted from encroachment of land," he said. He demanded for more central forces to the state to provide security to the personnel involved in the management and execution of works related to Trans-Arunachal Highway and the hydro power developers, sources said.
