Arrangements were completed for the smooth conduct of the Ashtamirohini Vallasadya, marking the Sree Krishna Jayanti celebrations, at the Aranmula Lord Parthasarathy temple on Saturday.
President of the Palliyoda Seva Sangham, which jointly organises the vallasadya in association with the Travancore Devaswom Board and under the supervision of Jaganmohandas and Ravindran Nair, the observers appointed by Kerala High Court, K V Sambadevan told Express that the vallasadya would begin at 11 am after the uchcha pooja at the temple.
Sambadevan said that around one lakh devotees are expected to participate in the Ashtamirohini vallasadya.
He said that the vallasadya would be distributed to the devotees on all the three sides of the temple, while the north side of the temple is meant for the use of palliyoda karas.
Of the 48 palliyodams, 40 would take part in the vallasadya, he said.
NSS president P N Narendranathan Nair will inaugurate the event by lighting the traditional lamp at 11 am. Kerala High Court Justice C N Ramachandran Nair would inaugurate the vallasadya by distributing food dishes on the plantain leaf.
A 350-member team led by Manoj Madhavassery would be in-charge of the preparation and distribution of vallasadya, he said.
