CHENNAI: Senior DMK leader M K Stalin was rushed to Sri Ramachandra Medical College at noon on Friday, after he reportedly experienced “acute back pain”. Senior DMK leaders confirmed that he was taken to the hospital in Porur to ensure that there were no complications. This led to speculation in DMK circles that Stalin might have suffered heart problem. His family has attributed it to stress and lack of rest, a source said. A release from the party confirmed that Stalin had indeed undergone an angiogram at SRMU, but downplayed it by saying that it was part of a general check-up. “After the general check-up, doctors suggested an angiogram. The results of this (angio) have shown that there is no problem with him,” the release said.
