MADURAI: The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Monday relaxed the conditions imposed on  N Suresh Babu alias ‘Pottu’ Suresh, while granting bail in two criminal cases registered against him. According to the bail order, Suresh should appear before Madurai District Judicial Magistrate-I everyday from December 1 until further orders. The court allowed him to visit Chennai for treatment for one week.A close aide of Alagiri and a key DMK functionary from Madurai, Suresh was detained under the Goondas Act, apart from being booked for two criminal cases registered by the Avaniapuram police and the Madurai City Crime Branch police.The Madurai Bench of the HC, on November 11, quashed the Goondas Act that was slapped on him citing lack of material. According to the authorities, Suresh was detrimental to the law and order and hence Goondas Act was slapped on him.Meanwhile, the Palayamkottai prison officials executed his bail order with effect from November 14. As per the conditions for bail, Suresh had to appear before the Avaniapuram police and Madurai City Crime Branch police everyday until further orders were passed.On November 16, Suresh filed two petitions before the HC Bench, here seeking relaxation of bail conditions. According to Suresh, he could not comply with the conditions due to bad health. He was undergoing treatment in a nursing home for blood vomiting and burning chest after his release from jail, he said in his petitions.Relaxing the conditions, Justice V Periyakaruppiah, permitted Suresh to visit a nursing home in Chennai from November 23. However, he is instructed to appear before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore. From December 1, he has been told to appear before Madurai court.
