CHENNAI: The orders passed by the Madras High Court on March 2 last year banning Bus Day celebrations by college students were strictly followed and would be complied with in the future also, said the DGP in his counter-affidavit filed in the Madras High Court on Monday.On the instructions already issued by the DGP, his subordinates made sincere and strenuous efforts to prevent students from conduting bus day celebrations, the counter filed in response to a public interest writ petition from advocate V Srinivasan said.When a section of the students of Pachaiappa’s College tried to conduct the event on February 9 this year, the local police promptly prevented them from doing so. The agitated students reacted violently and pelted stones at the public, police and vehicles. A case was registered by the police the same day, Suresh and 13 others were arrested  and remanded in judicial custody, the counter added.
