Vadodara: Indian Cricket Board could take a leaf out of the book of its Pakistani counterpart, Pakistan Cricket Board, in professionalising its set-up.

BCCI chief Sharad Pawar, living up to his electoral promise of making the board professional, has asked Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to present a report in this regard.

Giving the example of the Pakistani Cricket Board, which has several managers to guide the team, Pawar said BCCI's functioning could also be streamlined in a similar way.

Pawar has also asked TCS to take suggestions from former board presidents Jagmohan Dalmiya and I S Bindra regarding the issue.

Pawar also stressed on the need to have a cricket academy in each zone to promote young talent in the field. At present there is only one academy at Bangalore.

Regarding the contracts of the players, Pawar said that it would be finalised before the Indian team's tour of Pakistan.

He further added that the telecast rights would be done in a transparent manner and whoever made the highest bid, will get the rights.
