Bengaluru rape case: Driver, helper arrested
Bengauru Police commissioner claims that both the accused have confessed and have no criminal background. The accused were working in Bengaluru for the past 3 years as a driver.

Bengaluru: A 22-year-old BPO employee was allegedly kidnapped and raped on Saturday night by two men who offered her a ride in a Tempo Traveller from a bus stop in south Bengaluru.

The driver of the van in which the 22-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped, as well as his helper, have been arrested. Bengaluru Police commissioner claims that both the accused have confessed and have no criminal background. The accused were working in Bengaluru for the past 3 years as a driver.

The BPO employee was abducted when she was returning from work late on Saturday night and then allegedly gang raped inside the moving vehicle.

The two accused were apprehended after police scanned CCTV footage of major traffic junctions and are currently being questioned by the police. The survivor was returning home at 10 PM when the alleged incident took place.

The FIR was registered on Sunday and the police confirmed rape after the medical test. The van was seized after the victim provided the police with some leads on the vehicle's registration number.
