Bihar: Flood alert issued in 9 districts as water level rises in river Kosi
The National Disaster Response Force teams has been conducting rescue operations of over 30,000 villagers, reportedly trapped in their homes in Supaul district.

Supaul (Bihar): Flood alert has been issued in nine districts in Bihar after the rising water levels of the Kosi river continued to trigger panic, flooding villages along its course.

More than four lakh people in eastern India are likely to be affected.

The National Disaster Response Force teams has been conducting rescue operations of over 30,000 villagers, reportedly trapped in their homes in Supaul district.

The state government has also requested the Army to be on standby.
