A professor, who had received extortion calls on his mobile phone recently, was shot at and injured on Sunday by assailants at Laheriasarai area in Bihar's Darbhanga distict.
A professor, who had received extortion calls on his mobile phone recently, was shot at and injured on Sunday by assailants at Laheriasarai area in Bihar's Darbhanga distict.
Police said the professor, who teaches chemistry in a local college, was on way to a shop near his house when two motorcycle-borne assailants shot at him from close range.
The professor was rushed to the Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger.
He had received the extortion call a few days ago demanding Rs five lakh, the police added.
