BALASORE: Rajya Sabha member Pyarimohan Mohapatra is confident of BJD victory in at least 600 ZP seats. “Earlier I was in a thought that the BJD will get 450 to 600 seats. Now I am confident the party would romp home in at least 600 seats out of 854. The number can go up,” he told reporters here on Monday. On BJD prospects in Balasore district, he said the ruling party would form the Balasore Zilla Parishad with a clear majority. Pyari, in a whirlwind campaign, attended seven public meetings in Soro, Nilagiri, Balasore, Jaleswar and Bhogarai. Listing out the achievements of the BJD-led State Government, he attacked the Congress for step-motherly attitude of the Central Government towards Odisha. Appealing to the people to vote for BJD, he asked people to vote out all national parties for better governance. Pyari threw barbs at the Centre alleging that the State lost nearly ` 1 lakh crore in royalty in the last six years due to the erratic mineral policy of the UPA Government. He was accompanied by Steel and Industries Minister Raghunath Mohanty, district BJD president and Bhogarai MLA Ananta Das, Sadar and Remuna MLAs Jiban Pradip Dash and Sudarshan Jena. The BJD MP would campaign for the party candidates in Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.
