BJP leaders are convinced that it's just a matter of days when the saffron brigade would take over the reins of Karnataka.

Bangalore: The situation in Karnataka is politically still very fluid, though the scales are tipped in favour of a possible JD(S)-BJP government.

Chief Minister Dharam Singh has been asked to prove his majority in the state assembly by January 27. The BJP and JD(S) insist that they be allowed to form the government.

The battle may not have been won as yet but celebrations have already begun in the BJP camp.

Party leaders are convinced that it's just a matter of days when the saffron brigade would take over the reins of the state along with the JD(S) faction led by Deve Gowda's son, H D Kumaraswamy.

JD(S) State General Secretary, Milind Dharmasena says, "We have now reached the point of no return. Its not possible for us to leave the BJP."

But it might not be as simple as it sounds since the Congress Chief Minister Dharam Singh sounds confident of getting a clear majority on January 27.

"I am sure that we will prove our majority on the floor of the house," says he.

And while Dharam Singh is making assertive statements, there is confusion on the status of Deve Gowda too.

Having made all the threats to bring the Karnataka government down it was Gowda who was being painted as the loser as his son plotted a coup on him.

Experts are now wondering whether this was all a plan hatched by the former prime minister himself.

Kumaraswamy is already beginning to feel the heat because the Congress is trying everything and is in touch with Deve Gowda.

And though Gowda's politics has come under a lot of suspicion, the BJP is not suspecting him of any foul play.

BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, says, "We have met the governor and are sure of being called soon to form the government soon."

But in this entire political game the role of the governor becomes extremely critical. Going by the manner in which the governor's decisions have been questioned in recent times, T N Chaturvedi would have to be extremely cautious before making any move.
