Mumbai: The BJP's Mumbai unit will release a documentary on the life of the late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan on the occasion of his birth anniversary on October 30. Several other programmes will be organised to mark the occasion, party sources said.
A garden will be inaugurated in the name of late Mahajan at Ghatkoper while free spectacles will be distributed to the needy at Worli. Late Mahajan's brother-in-law and senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde and other leaders are expected to attend these programmes.
The documentary on late Mahajan has been prepared by his son Rahul. The documentary traces the rise of Pramod Mahajan who was shot at by his younger brother and later succumbed to injuries after battling for life for eleven days.
Leaders like former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar are among those who have expressed their views on the departed leader in the documentary, according to city BJP chief Prakash Mehta.
