In a major breakthrough in Burdwan blast case, security agencies on Monday arrested Amjad, one of the key conspirator, in connection to October 2 blast from West Bengal.

Kolkata: In a major breakthrough in Burdwan blast case, security agencies on Monday arrested Amjad, one of the key conspirator, in connection to October 2 blast from West Bengal.

The West Bengal police had arrested the main accused of the incident Sajid, a Bangladeshi national and stated to be a Chief Commander of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terror group on Saturday and other key conspirator of the blast Zia ul Haq on Friday.

Sajid was arrested by slueths of Bidhannagar Police Commissionarte in the afternoon from the Airport area of North 24-Parganas district.

Two Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh terrorists were killed in a blast at a TMC supporter's home in Burdwan in October 2014.

The case has revealed an extensive terror network in the area which raised questions against the TMC government.
