BANGALORE: Three flats at Platinum City Apartment in Yeshawantapur on Tumkur Road were burgled on Saturday. Miscreants have broke open the door locks of three houses and made away with valuables worth about Rs 4 lakh. Reportedly, the residents were not present in the houses when the incident occured. All the thefts were committed between 1.30 pm to 4 pm.The miscreants entered the house of one Radha Kavalekar, located in the tenth floor and have stolen jewels worth more than Rs 2.5 lakh. Gold ornaments worth Rs 90,000 has been stolen from one, B A Kulkarni’s residence situated in the seventh floor of the building.Jewels worth Rs 35,000 is missing from Sutthappa Mukherji’s house in the eleventh floor.The miscreants in all the incidents have broke open the door locks and gained entry into the houses. More than 700 flats are situated in the eight blocks of the apartment and it is guarded by around 100 security personnel, the police said.“But the security personnel are clueless. Their role ocannot be ruled out in this situation. Some of the guards have already been questioned in connection with the incident,” the police added.
