HYDERABAD: In an age of dwindling acquaintance with regional languages, a national Hindi conference was held on Saturday to celebrate the national language and discuss ways to ensure its survival. The Hindi Prachar Sabha, Hyderabad organised the conference where many Hindi scholars gave suggestions for not only retaining its life but also popularise it in the southern states.“Many people in south India feel a hostility towards the language. Politics have poisoned people’s minds. The language is not the mother tongue of majority of states even in North India. It is a widely spoken language and one has to learn it to communicate with people outside your own state,” said Central Hindi Directorate research official Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma.  Kumar said there were jobs for language enthusiasts. “My job in the Hindi directorate is my eighth job. Jobs are aplenty in the field,” he added.
