BANGALORE: Mahadevapura police have registered a non-cognisable case against KR Puram MLA N S Nandish Reddy, A Narayanapura Corporator S S Prasad, local BJP leader Shivaraj and others for allegedly removing the fencing put by the Railways near Benniganahalli railway bridge.The police said that the MLA and others, on Friday morning, removed the fencing and tried to start the work of road widening. Railways official Sai Bhaskar has filed a complaint stating that the MLA and others removed the fencing without prior information.However, MLA Reddy said that the road witnessed huge traffic jams due to the fencing. “As the road connects various software companies and other major industries, a large number of people commute through the road. Due to the fencing, the road widening could not be done and this has resulted in vehicle users languishing on the road for hours. We had to remove fencing,” he said.KRV activists acquittedIn connection with the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) activists daubing the former Mayor of Belgaum City Corporation (BCC), Vijay More, the 7th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Friday acquitted 15 activists including KRV’s working President Praveen Kumar Shetty.On November 11, 2005, the KRV activists had allegedly daubed Belgaum Mayor Vijay More in the wake of City Corporation passing a resolution to include Belgaum district under Maharashtra. The police had arrested Shetty and 14 others and had filed charge sheet against them.After a trial of about six years, the Court acquitted the 15 due to lack of evidence. Shetty welcomed the court’s order and termed the verdict as ‘victory to self-respect’.
