HYDERABAD: The CBI has found strong corroborative evidence that a major chunk of investments in Jagati Publications Private Limited (JPPL), owned by YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, by several top companies was not merely for commercial purposes but for “other considerations.” CBI Joint Director VV Lakshminarayana is expected to submit a report on the preliminary enquiry into Jagan’s assets to the high court on Tuesday.Top sources told Express that after the two-week preliminary probe, the CBI has found corroborative evidence which suggests that nearly 50 firms, that pumped money into Jagan’s company, had benefited to some extent from the then government headed by the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy. “All these companies had never invested so much in Jagan’s firms before YSR came to power. After he came to power, most of them benefited in some way or the other,” the sources said. Following this conclusion, the agency will now seek permission from the court for a full-fledged probe into the affairs involving Jagan’s assets. “The benefits received by companies which invested in Jagan Mohan Reddy’s concerns need to be probed in detail,” the sources said.CBI Director AP Singh has been briefed on the developments and he is likely to give his approval (for the local CBI officials) to go ahead and submit the report to the high court. In fact, the CBI headquarters in New Delhi has been keeping a close watch on the probe against the young MP.Those, who appeared before the CBI on behalf of JPPL, reportedly blamed the then State cabinet and bureaucrats arguing that all decisions were not taken by the then chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy alone and that it was taken only after approval from the cabinet. The CBI will also submit a separate report to the court on Emaar scam.
