CHILAKALURIPET (GUNTUR): Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu has said that the TDP, if voted to power, would introduce a special budget for agriculture. Participating in the 15km Rytu Poru padayatra from Kammavaripalem to Lingamguntla in Chilakaluripet Assembly segment here on Tuesday, the TDP president said that he was undertaking the padayatra to highlight the plight of farmers.
Saying that the government's aid to the farmers, who had incurred heavy loses last year, is meager, Naidu said even as the farmers suffered losses to the tune of Rs 40,000 crore, the government extended only an aid of Rs 2,000 crore. "Despite the farmers have incurred heavy crop losses this year, the government is yet to chalk out plans to bail them out," he said.
