The police have filed a charge-sheet against French diplomat Pascal Mazurier in the case filed by his wife Suja Jones, alleging that he had raped their daughter.
DCP (Central) B R Ravikanthe Gowda told Express, “The investigating officer filed the charge-sheet against the accused in the Eighth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court on September 12. He is charged under section 376 of the IPC for raping his minor daughter. During the investigation he was found guilty.”
Sources said, “The 150-page charge-sheet includes more than 60 statements of witnesses, statements of both the complainant and the accused, medical certificates, reports of DNA tests, FSL reports and copies of other circumstantial evidence.”
Suja, who hails from Kerala, filed a case with the police on June 14, accusing Mazurier, Chief of Joint Chancellerie in the Consulate of France, of raping their three-year-and-10-month-old daughter. Mazurier was arrested on July 18.
Bail Plea Adjourned
Meanwhile, the Karnataka High Court on Monday adjourned Mazurier’s bail petition till Friday. When the matter came up for hearing before Justice H N Nagamohan Das, the government advocate told the court that the police had filed a charge-sheet against the accused in VIII ACMM Court.
