CHENNAI: The Indian Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (IATLIS) has conferred on Professor Dr B Ramesh Babu the IATLIS – Motiwale Best LIS Teacher Award for 2011. Dr Ramesh Babu is working as professor in the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Madras. This award was conferred on him on November 26, 2011 at the Inaugural Ceremony of the XXVIII IATLIS National Conference held at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. It was presented by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr Parimal H Trivedi, Gujarat University and The President of IATLIS Dr Jagtar Singh. Earlier awards received by him include the Commonwealth Fellowship (1999-2000). He has also been conferred the Best Teacher and Researcher Award by the National Association of Indian libraries (NAIL) for the year 2008.
