CM leaves for New Delhi NIC meet

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday left for Delhi to attend the meeting of National Integration Council (NIC) on Saturday. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will chair the 15th meeting of the NIC.Sources said that the Chief Minister will demand inclusion of four more districts under the Integrated Action Plan (IAP) in Orissa.At present, IAP is being implemented in 15 districts in the State.The agenda for the meeting includes measures to curb communalism and communal violence, approach to the Communal Violence Bill, measures to promote communal harmony, measures to eliminate discrimination, especially against minorities and Scheduled Tribes, handling of civil disturbances by the State and police and curbing of radicalisation of youth in the name of religion and caste.
