WARANGAL: Following the fatal encounter of Maoist Central Committee leader Mallojula Koteshwar Rao alias Kishenji in West Midnapore district, Warangal police on Sunday have sounded a red alert in the district and requested public representatives, who are prime targets of the Reds, not to enter into Maoisthit areas without intimating them.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in Atavi region while former Naxalites from Euturnagaram, Tadwai, Mangapeta, Govindpur, Mulugu and Bhupalpalli have been taken into custody as a preventive measure. They have also warned the Naxalites that they would be held responsible if they resort to violence or any sort of attacks.

On the other hand, police have deployed former Naxalites to provide security to all government offices in the district. On the other hand, CRPF and Greyhounds forces have intensified combing operations near Godavari River in Euturunagaram mandal, anticipating threat from Maoists who might cross the Godavari to enter into the district and resort to attacks.
