BANGALORE: An inmate of Parappana Agrahara Central Prison who was recommended for early release on compassionate grounds died of health problems. Following his death, hundreds of convicts staged a demonstration demanding the government to focus on the early release of prisoners with good conduct on compassionate grounds regularly. The deceased has been identified as Vasudeva (45). He was sentenced to life imprisonment in a kidnap and murder case and he had served about 15 years of his punishment. He was a native of Kalya Gate in Magadi, Ramanagaram district.According to the officials of the prison, Vasudeva was suffering from diabetes and he was also addicted to smoking. He had an injury in his leg and did not get proper treatment for it and it had turned to gangrene. On Sunday evening, when his health condition deteriorated, he was admitted to the prison hospital. However, as his condition was critical, he was shifted to Victoria Hospital in the night and he died after a few hours.Bike set on fire for wheelingRoad rage of two youth resulted in public setting ablaze the bike. The incident took place at Krishna Road Junction on Old Kanakapura Road in Basavanagudi police station limits. According to police, Mujamil and Sohail, said to be mechanics, riding an altered a Yamaha bike recklessly,  performed stunts like wheeling and had a close shave with two cars. They hit a Honda Activa on which a newly-wed couple were riding. All the four sustained minor injuries, the police said.“Fearing public wrath, Sohail, riding pillion, fled away. Mujamil got on bike again, tried to speed away and hit Swift car. Irked by dangerous stunts, the people caught and thrashed him. They set his bike on fire. The fire was extinguished.
