Kadavanthra Janamaithri police organised a massive cleaning drive as part of Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations at various places under Kadavanthra police station limits on Tuesday. The cleaning drive started at 8 am and continued till evening.
Over 100 people from the Police Department, various residential association members, Kudumbashree members, students from Indira Gandhi Nursing College, social activists, members of political parties, YMCA members and officials of the Health Department of the Corporation took part.
The Health Department of the Corporation had allotted a truck and earth moving machines for the cleaning drive.
The programme was inaugurated by City Police Deputy Commissioner T Gopalakrishna Pillai along with film actress Meera Nandan on Kadavanthra-Gandhinagar Road.
